Ms. Wells received her Masters Degree in Social Work from Loyola University Graduate School of Social Work. Joan has two additional years of training at The Family Institute of Chicago. She is a licensed clinical social worker in the State of Illinois. Ms. Wells' clinical experience includes over 30 years of brief and long-term treatment of adults, adolescents and children. Personal Statement

I believe that an individual’s life experiences make them uniquely who they are. Some of these experiences contribute to personal development while other experiences leave an individual feeling confused, hurt, trapped, lost, anxious or myriad of other emotions. When a person is struggling or needs extra support, therapy can help them get back on track. Through the client/counselor therapeutic alliance, I attempt to provide insights and assist in exploring events and patterns in order to achieve a better quality of life. Therapy may include hard psychological work, but it can be a very satisfying and enriching experience.

I treat each client individually and consider it a privilege to help them achieve their goals. Through unique individualized therapy, I assist each client with an opportunity to better understand who they are and why they respond to a variety of situations in the hope of utilizing change in order to realize their fullest potential.
