Personal Statement
Personal experience combined with years of professional practice have confirmed my belief that a compassionate, qualified therapist can truly help people find effective solutions to life situations that seem troubling or overwhelming. I believe that my job as a therapist is to help you take an honest look at your situation, explore your feelings and thoughts, develop coping skills, and find effective solutions in an atmosphere that is professional, safe, and supportive. My goal is to help you gain a deeper understanding of yourself, develop unrecognized strengths, and make genuine, positive changes in your life. My approach is caring and goal-oriented, and I firmly believe that every person has the inherent potential for healing, growth, and the capacity to enjoy a more fulfilling life.
I have a strong background in psychodynamic, cognitive, and family systems therapy. I work with individuals, couples, and families, and offer both long-and short-term counseling. My approach is empathic and thoughtful, but interactive. I will not just sit and listen but will actively help you reach your goals.
I have a particular interest in helping both men and women who desire to raise their self-esteem or increase their ability to communicate assertively. I also have extensive experience with individuals who are dealing with difficult life transitions.
I take all PPOs, including Blue Cross/Blue Shield, Corphealth, and PHCS.
