Personal Statement
I am a therapist with an eclectic approach to therapy. For me, the process of therapy begins with a warm, trusting therapeutic relationship, in which both client and therapist can mutually agree upon goals. During the process of therapy, depending on the client's needs, I use all of the various types of therapy I have studied, in order to help the client reach those goals. I offer a warm, supportive environment in which a client can feel safe confronting the difficult and sometimes painful situations which have brought them into therapy. Together, the client and I begin setting in motion a collaborative process in which I help clients find their own strengths and their own undiscovered ways to solve their problems. Often, I provide hope that solutions are possible, and that clients are not alone in dealing with these problems. Some clients have become hopeless and do not think there is a way at all to solve their problems. During the therapy, I find that clients often become aware of strengths they never knew they had, and ways of communicating they never knew they were capable of. In this way, even after the therapeutic sessions end, clients can continue to live happier and more productive lives.
